The Texas Department of Public Safety would like to formally announce the retirement of Lieutenant Colonel Cosmin, effective May 26, 2026.

Lieutenant Colonel Cosmin's journey began on April 16, 2024, a day that marked the beginning of a path defined by service, commitment, dedication, passion, and history.

April 16 was the day Lieutenant Colonel Cosmin made his first steps into this department, without realizing what he would eventually become for it. Day by day, he grew alongside the community, engaged with fellow Troopers, and advanced through the ranks one by one until reaching the honorable position that many aspire to achieve: Lieutenant Colonel within the Texas Department of Public Safety.

For a total of 495 days, Lieutenant Colonel Cosmin faithfully served the State of Texas. The dedication he showed in every task entrusted to him was truly remarkable. Through perseverance, professionalism, and constant involvement, he proved himself to be a valuable member of this department and a respected leader among his peers.

Today, May 26, 2026, we take a moment to thank Lieutenant Colonel Cosmin for his service, commitment, and the impact he made within the Texas Department of Public Safety. His journey stands as a testament to dedication, leadership, and loyalty to the values that define this department.

The Texas Department of Public Safety announces the retirement of Chief ExternalAlex, effective February 28, 2026.

Chief ExternalAlex concludes a distinguished career marked by exemplary leadership, professionalism, and steadfast dedication to the mission of this Department and the citizens of Texas. His service has left a lasting and meaningful impact on DPS and those who have had the privilege to serve alongside him.

The Department extends its sincere appreciation for Chief ExternalAlex's 1 year of faithful service and wishes him continued success and fulfillment in retirement.

Today marks a day of remembrance for one of the most tragic moments in American history. On September 11, 2001, 3,000 innocent lives were taken in the tragic terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93.

Any jokes or disrespectful comments that are made about this tragedy will result in a removal from the department.
